the art of David Lynch – HD Remaster

A good 12 years ago (heretofore known as 1 Boyhood in temporal terms), my compatriots at Bennett Media published their video tribute to a man (and I’m talking about the Twin Peaks dude, here) whose singular work had already formed the cornerstone of my cinematic taste. The well-chosen music cues, sharp edits, and full tasting menu presentation of Lynch’s work in celluloid and DV tape has brought me back at least once a year since.

But tech has leapt forward, and windowboxed 240p is a cave drawing. Using Blu-Ray sources and a 1080 output, I brought the original edit into the future (or is it past?)– better to see the wriggling bugs underneath the surface, my pretties. It’s a nearly frame-by-frame Gus Van Santing, with one or two contemporaneous surprises.

So give it the glad hand!
